Urú means both "eclipse" and "eclipsis". The latter is a grammatical term for the overriding of one letter with another, e.g. an bhfuil is an example of eclipsis.

Séimhiú literally means "attenuation" or, in a grammatical context, "lenition", which is indicated with an h. Tá a fhios agam is an example of lenition.
